Kanto Celts are the most highly rated underachieving soccer
Team in the Tokyo metropolitan area. The Celts are not just
a football team but a social institution. Careful co-ordination
behind the scenes in kantoceltdom allows the stars juggle
football and fame in the face of various adversities like
work, women, alcohol and Eugene's ad-hoc nights out. With
the bosman ruling strictly in force here in Japan the Celts
have enlisted the services of overseas talents from as far
away as Russia, Canada, US, Ireland and the other country
next to it. Within the ranks we boast a Harvard Lawyer, Westlife
reject, zoolander himself and Roy Keanes' friend (on first
name basis). As the most recognised team in Japan and possibly
Asia-Pacific, Celts spend much of their time on tour to places
like Phuket, Nagano and Izumo representing Ireland and anything
green. Kanto Celts are always on the lookout for new talent
to nurture and strengthen the defence, midfield and strikers.

all and can handle the lifestyle contact kantoceltsfc@yahoo.com

LIONS FC (Singapore)

Country: Singapore
City: Singapore
Team Color: White
Captain: Jamie
Players: International

The Lions Football Club was formed in 1997 in Singapore
and was originally an amalgamation of non-Dutch Hollandse
and Dynamo TNT players. The first AGM was held at the Sunset
Bar on Sentosa which soon became our 'other' home and where
it was decided by a unanimous vote that we should be called
'The Spice Boys' - it seemed to fit the mood at the time and
was before the Reds of Liverpool received that famous tag.
Unfortunately having sobered up the following day the name
was dropped and a more suitable name was found. Our first
season was to be our finest yet and the Lions went on to win
the league in true style - losing only one game despite sacking
the coach after only five games. Being a team of misfits and
outcasts from all areas of the globe we have often been seen
as physical and aggressive - not true - we see ourselves as
lovers not fighters and have a unified common belief in world
peace. If we had a motto it would probably be the line from
Platoon - ''we did not fight the enemy, we fought ourselves
and the enemy was within us'' - I think that just about sums
up the Lions spirit and we wouldn't have it any other way.

HIBERNIANS
FC
(Singapore)

Country: Singapore

Captain: Ben Arnott
Players: International...
|

Hibernians FC of Singapore was established with the aim
of providing a recreational outlet for Expats in the form
of regular soccer games and a social environment for team-mates
and fellow soccer enthusiasts. Shortly after forming in 1996
the founding members adopted their present-day name, though
the origins of this decision is still very much in dispute.
One version has it that the group compromised on a designation
that would best represent those Scots and Irish on the team
who predominated (thus associating themselves with an Edinburgh-based
club that is represented by the Latin word for 'Irish'). The
more widely accepted version, however, has it that Big Eddie
Harkin of Donegal insisted that the side be called as such,
a decree with which no one was going to argue. Since its inception
Hibernians FC, or 'Hibs', has progressed to a point of near-competence.
From humble beginnings on the terraces of the East Coast,
to friendly games against local and visiting sides, to competitive
Sunday Leagues matches on Sentosa, the Club has come a long
way in a short time. In 1999 Hibs entered its first tournament
and placed a respectable third. The following year they duplicated
this result in the Golden Sun Championships, a 14-team competition
that ran from March to December, and a period that saw Hibs
claim some notable distinctions including most goals scored
for, least goals conceded and most yellow cards against! The
year 2000 was also significant in that Hibernians FC applied
for 'Society' status from the Singapore government, paving
the way for the sponsorship they presently enjoy from Muddy
Murphys Irish Pub, which is located in the Orchard Hotel
Shopping Arcade off Orchard Road. The following season Hibs
won the Sunsports League and in 2002 entered two teams into
the first and second divisions of the League.

Voodoo FC, from Shanghai... 2nd in the Manila 6-a-side tournament
and won the 2004 Hebiguchi Cup in Shanghai. This tour we're
bringing.... Rick "Gaffer" Howard: Uses coded
American terminology to throw the other team off (and sometimes
his own!). Gavin "Clooney" Morgan: Half English,
half French , 100% Village People. Ian "Dicko" Dickson:
Oldest member of the tour squad, Chelsea fan (and given his
age, probably the only founding member of Chelsea still alive).
Julian "Mullet" Goodes: only defenders of
his calibre can get away with a haircut like his. Mark "Canker"
Suchy: Canadian, too tall to be a hockey player or a mountie.
Chris "The Unit" Barnyard: Keeper of the
last Manila 6s. Bastian "The Unknown Element"
Land: The Mystery guest player from Hong Kong. Andre "The
Bookie" Delarue: German, with a French name, English
accent and Russian liver. The only Voodoo Tour Virgin that
has been on tour before. Go figure. Steve "Stookie"
Watson: the Uncrowned "King of Clean Play", undoubtedly
a Scot. You'll hear him before he arrives. Paul "Uncle
Fester" Lewis: The midfielder with the streamlined
haircut to compensate for the legs. Also, looks like our goalkeeper.
Paul Skulls: The world famous, bodiless Voodoo footballer
with the method, madness, a black magic to ensure Voodoo victory.
Finally, The Voodoo would like to thank Kirk, our team photographer
for making us look like stars. Also, our home bar the Big
Bamboo in Shanghai for its continuous international support.
And lastly the guys in Thailand that make the tour happen
for all of us!

Boca Seniors was founded in 1997 and have been playing in
Hong Kong's Yau Yee League (YYL) and, since our inception,
have been plying our trade within the YYL's top two divisions.
In our inaugural season (1997/98) we won the YYL Second Division
title, which we subsequently won again in the 2001/02 season.
The frequent arrivals and departures being the nature of an
expatriate's life has meant that Boca's forays into the top
flight have been all too fleeting, with only two seasons in
the YYL First Division. The club's squad over the years has
included the full range of nationalities usually found within
Hong Kong's expatriate community
England, Wales, Scotland,
Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Nepal, Senegal and even one
guy from Mauritius (who was, of course, a Man Utd fan !!).
The squad playing in the Bangkok Tournament in April 2005
will rely strongly on former Boca players (allegedly legends)
who have recently moved to work and live in Thailand (lucky
gits!). We strongly believe in the philosophy of match days
consisting of three 'halves' and you can guarantee that whether
we win, lose or draw during the first two of these 'halves',
Boca will be sure to outshine any opposition during the third
half. This will be Boca's fifth 'tour' and it will be the
first time that we'll actually have kicked a ball !
Thank you for inviting Boca Seniors to play in the inaugural
Bangkok International Soccer 7's Tournament and we look forward
to seeing all the other teams this weekend
and remember
it's all about your performance in that vital third
half that makes all the difference !

BMFC was formerly known as The British High Commission Football
Club. Formed in 1994, essentially by expatriates (attached
to the High Commission) based in Kuala Lumpur. The team changed
its name to British Malaysia Football Club for the 2004/2005
season, as the ratio of expats to local players is now about
50-50. The team plays its football in the Kuala Lumpur Social
Soccer League (KLSSL), and has had many successful years of
cup and league titles. This will be our first year in this
tournament, and are firstly honoured to participate, and are
looking equally forward to a great weekend of football, socials,
and hopefully a trophy, if the Singha does not get the better
of us!
