2006 Pattaya Soccer 7s Teams
We have given you 7s tournaments in Phuket and Bangkok. Now we are pleased to offer you the Pattaya International Soccer 7s that will be held in Pattaya, the colourful resort city south-east of Bangkok in the Gulf of Siam. This tournament aims to fill a void for social tournaments during the middle of the year and will have categories for both open ages and veteran teams. We expect that this will become as popular as the Phuket tournament. This tournament will be for Open & Masters team categories, with a maximum of 20 teams.

Tournament informations:
The Pattaya International Soccer 7s will be held this year on the World Cup final weekend, 8 & 9 July. Venues will be arranged where, after the tournament teams can watch the World Cup final and 3rd & 4th place game.
Teams will play a minimum of 4 games over 2 days, on a 7-a-side grass pitch (70m x 45m), 7 min halves, full size goal, no offside, rolling substitution.

Please remember that this is a social tournament aimed at social and amateur players. There should be no players under the age of 18 as our social activities take place in licensed premises.

Open Men Team Categories (10 teams):
All teams are invited to provide a team picture, logo and team colour, players nationality, captain name, with a short resume that will be presented in the Official Tournament Programme and Website.

HANOI CAPITALS (Vietnam)

Hanoi Capitals FC was established in 1994 and recently celebrated its 10th anniversary from which most of the boys are still recovering. Like to play away and finished a credible 2nd in the 2004 Bangkok Far Eastern Tournament. 340 players have represented the Capitals and it welcomes players from all nationalities (even French the occasional bird when we are short) !

MADRAS UNITED (India)
Country: India City: Madras Team Color: Blue Captain: Markus Players: International with English, Danish, German, Scotish, Yorkshire...
MadrasUnited, founded 1998 by Pete Briggs, an English Man and by Claus Lyngaa, Danish Dynamite. Shortly there after joined by Markus Kabisch, a German. MUF has participated in the Singapore 7 and in the last two Bangkok Masters. It is highly time that this team of highly skilled players finally enter at least the quarter final. The team: Pete Briggs, Yorkshire man, who is difficult to understand after a few beers. The oldest in the team, but scored more than some who call them selves "striker". Claus Lyngaa, Danish, loves to play up front, scored last in Singapore '03 and has a vision of Phuket top scorer 2005, all the best my friend. Simon Irvine, English, and for sure the playboy of the MUF team, we all hope he plays as well on the pitch as he does later in the bars. Girls run as fast as you can...... Mark Leppington, English, total commitment, is wearing his kit already two day before at home, including football boots. Also looking for his first goal since he joined MUF . Dirk Walther, German, defender, but very dangerous once he shows up in the other half. Well known for his flying headers, one day he will score....Dirk make sure we are all alive. Nige Wyman, English, tries very hard, but has never reached a final.... Nige , give everything, believe me MUF will reach the final before Chelsea does. Alan Mcgregor, Scots man, elegant midfield player, who can make the difference, very much depending on Friday night..... Rob Brown, English man, shows some skills which Brits normally do not have....technique, samba hips and stamina, sure he is married to a Latina. Markus Kabisch, German, who believes he can play any position, but they do not allow him...and most of the time ends up in the goal. Anybody interested to go in goal, last min. signing possible.

TITS & SEX TEAM (Japan)

Having joined forces for the Phuket 7's and Bangkok 7's the 'Soccer Experience' team from Penang has once again linked up with the Boys from Tokyo for this inaugural event in Pattaya. This time however, the majority of the team will be from Japan, Sid and his merry band of players from the Tokyo Metropolis League, teaming up with the mad Scot and his side kick from the Malasian Isle. Their Acronym describes them perfectly, well rounded, good on the eye but firm in their standing. With slick passing, and some fancy footy work, the word SEXY........................will never be further from peoples minds. You all know the story, we'll go out, get pissed, see sex on a stick all night, then look like a right bunch of tits on the pitch the next day!

ST PATRICK'S B.C. (Thailand)

A team of grumpy, arrogant, teenage misfits assembled to make up the numbers in this tournament! Shane (Ireland) – Tall, dark, handsome, full of energy, passion and commitment, but can’t play football! Paul (UK) – Can run, can run, can run, sometimes shoots…..rarely passes! Sage (UK) – Provides that ‘special’ touch in vital areas! Ben (Thailand – Captain) – Athletic and passionate but screams like a girl! Gareth (Australian) – Fit and vocal, please don’t give away any penalties! Dan (Thailand) – A breath of fresh air! 100% commitment, even without the ball. Raymond (Thailand) – Loves to beat the same player 4 times, then lose the ball. Stephen (Switzerland) – Loves to dance around the ball, dance around the field, dance around the flowers, come to think of it, does he ever play football? Simon (Thailand) – Favorite quote: ‘Everybody calm down, this game is to rough for me, I am going back to netball’. Dong Woo (South Korea) – Prefers to play for Dutch managers than Irish ones! Shane (Australia) – When does the BBQ start, I need a brew! Tim (Taiwan) – Fovorite quote: ‘Goalkeepers……….crap…I missed it again!”. All in all a team capable of brilliance and sheer rubbish! We look forward to the tournament and offering something different, hope you have a good laugh at our unique approach to football.

TAIWAN MONGRELS FC (Taiwan)

The Taiwan Mongrels are to football what The Barbarians are to Rugby. Well, not quite, but there are some interesting comparisons. Both teams are open to players from all other clubs (although we do not issue personal invitations or study individual form too closely). Another similarity lies in our mutual commitment to an attacking, free-flowing game (although in this case they might have a tad more success than we do). One big difference, though, is that while we encourage gentlemanly conduct on the field, we do not, like the Baa Baas, expect members of our pack to remain on their best behaviour when they are out and about town. After all, there is no point in asking for the impossible. Back on the field, here are a few players to watch out for. At the back, don’t be surprised if you are the victim of a crunchingly fair tackle from Rockveiler Roberts (a.k.a. the Rock), hunted down by Bloodhound Blundon, or unable to escape the watchful eye of Harrier Hewitt; in the middle of the park, Afghan Ackroyd goes for the bigger prey, while Collie Curtis will have you all in your 6-yard box in an instant and Greyhound Grimaud will be sure to get to the ball before you. And if one of us gets into trouble, Saint Bernard Schofield will surely be there to save the day. This is our second tour, following a highly successful inaugural appearance in the Manila 6’s last November, and we plan to enter a team into many of these great tournaments across S.E. Asia, so please come and have a beer with us – before the game, if we are drawn to play. Cheers!
