approach. Teamwork comes before everything. Cosmos is currently
ranked third in the Bangkok Football League and is having
a good season. It is eager to have some more good fun by participating

BAYON
WANDERERS FC (Cambodia) |
 |

|
Country: Cambodia
City: Phnom Penh
Team Color: Yellow/Black
Captain: Billy / Jesse
Players: International... |
Bayon Wanderers FC, Runner-up of the Plate 2004 Phuket Soccer
7s. The impressive 12th century Angkorian Bayon
Temple lends its name to this impressive team. The strength
of the Angkorian Empire is reflected in the depth of the squads
character, and the beauty and elegance of the temples is reflected
in the grace with which they take to the field. Similarly,
the horrific brutality of the ancient Khmer kings is clearly
evident in their violent and erratic behaviour on the pitch. |

BAMBOO VOODOO FC (China) |

|

Country: China
City: Shanghai
Team Color: Green
Captain: Rick Howard
Players: British
+ Everybody else |
Voodoo FC, from Shanghai... 2nd in the Manila 6-a-side tournament
and won the 2004 Hebiguchi Cup in Shanghai. This tour we're
bringing.... Rick "Gaffer" Howard: Uses coded
American terminology to throw the other team off (and sometimes
his own!). Gavin "Clooney" Morgan: Half English,
half French , 100% Village People. Ian "Dicko" Dickson:
Oldest member of the tour squad, Chelsea fan (and given his
age, probably the only founding member of Chelsea still alive).
Julian "Mullet" Goodes: only defenders of
his calibre can get away with a haircut like his. Mark "Canker"
Suchy: Canadian, too tall to be a hockey player or a mountie.
Chris "The Unit" Barnyard: Keeper of the
last Manila 6s. Bastian "The Unknown Element"
Land: The Mystery guest player from Hong Kong. Andre "The
Bookie" Delarue: German, with a French name, English
accent and Russian liver. The only Voodoo Tour Virgin that
has been on tour before. Go figure. Steve "Stookie"
Watson: the Uncrowned "King of Clean Play", undoubtedly
a Scot. You'll hear him before he arrives. Paul "Uncle
Fester" Lewis: The midfielder with the streamlined
haircut to compensate for the legs. Also, looks like our goalkeeper. Paul Skulls: The world famous, bodiless Voodoo footballer
with the method, madness, a black magic to ensure Voodoo victory.
Finally, The Voodoo would like to thank Kirk, our team photographer
for making us look like stars. Also, our home bar the Big
Bamboo in Shanghai for its continuous international support.
And lastly the guys in Thailand that make the tour happen
for all of us! |

BOCA
SENIORS (Hong
Kong) |
 |
 |
Country: Hong Kong
City: Various bars in and
around Wanchai
Team Color: Blue & Yellow
Captain: Tunners
Players:English with atoken
Aussie for comedy value |
Boca Seniors was founded in 1997 and we have been playing
in Hong Kongs Yau Yee League (YYL). In our inaugural
season (1997/98) we won the YYL Second Division title, which
we subsequently won again in the 2001/02 season. Frequent
arrivals and departures being the nature of an expatriates
life has meant that Bocas forays into the top flight
have been all too fleeting, with only two seasons in the YYL
First Division. The clubs squad over the years has included
the full range of nationalities usually found within Hong
Kongs expatriate community
England, Wales, Scotland,
Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Nepal, Senegal and even one
guy from Mauritius, who was of course a Man Utd fan !! Fresh
from our success as Bowl Winners at the inaugural
Bangkok International Soccer 7s Tournament in April
this year, Boca Seniors are returning to the island paradise
of Phuket to build upon their previous success by bagging
another trophy. More likely than not, it be the much coveted
and sought after Wooden Spoon
but who cares
?! We believe that the essential ingredients to any decent
football squads are always to have a healthy mix of experience
and youth. Touring squads are no exception to this rule. The
squad playing in this Phuket Tournament will rely on former
Boca players who have now moved to work and live in Thailand
(lucky gits!) who will provide the vital Thailand experience.
The more youthful element will be provided by a couple of
Boca Tour Virgins who will no doubt not even manage
to make it to the pitch once they have discovered the dubious
delights of Bangla Road. We strongly believe in the philosophy
of match days consisting of three halves and you
can guarantee that whether we win, lose or draw during the
first two of these halves, Boca will be sure to
outshine any opposition during the third half. Thank you for
inviting Boca Seniors to play in the Phuket International
Soccer 7s Tournament and we look forward to seeing all
the other teams this weekend
and remember
its
all about your performance in that crucial third half ! |

Farangutans FC, first participation for this team from the

rag-tag band of amateur football players and professional

machine - a force to be reckoned with both on and off the
pitch. |

LIONS FC (Taiwan) |
 |

|
Country: Taiwan
Team Color: Red
Captains: O'Sullivan,
Hewitt & Browne
Players: UK, Canada, Italy
Poland, Ireland, Australia |
Red Lions FC, first participation for this team from Taiwan...The
Red Lions squad arrives at the Phuket 7s from a break in their
Taipei league fixtures and fresh from their latest competitions,
winning the Tavern Premier League and the Taiwan Fall Cup.
The Taipei Red Lions Football Club was formed in 1983 and
their history is littered with tournaments all over Asia with
the island of Phuket witnessing many a fine Red Lions performance.
We hope this year to at least match our ancestors (Charlie
Watson) both on and off the field at this years tournament.
We have gathered for this weekend some of the Lions most experienced
(older, last legs, past sell buy date) players as well as
some new faces with fresh legs and hair on their heads, a
squad of 17 players with a mixture of what looks like fathers
and sons. Both the young guns and the over 35s have
been steered here by Paddy OSullivan our veteran tournament
player/organizer with some 25 tours under his shorts.(equates
to about 2500 beers) or around 250 shouts by Paddy of someone
get the round in. The young guns captain is Kenny Browne
..him
with clean boyish looks, motorized legs and loads of Irish
wit. The slightly older squad 35-55s, are handled by
football veteran Tony Hewitt who was recently voted by the
sponsors (Carnegies Taipei) barmaids as the Lions most valuable
player! The Red Lions wish all the teams an enjoyable weekend
of football and elephant riding, if we dont meet on
the field then we are sure to bump into you in the bar. Whos
Spartacus? |

|
Country: Vietnam
City: Saigon / Ho Chi Minh
Team Color: White
Captains: John / Eddy
Players: Bristish,
Dutch, Irish, Spanish,
Canadian, French,
Australian. |
Saigon Saints, second participation for this team from Vietnam. Saigon
Saints were formed in 1995 with help from a sponsoring tobacco
company. The original idea was to call the club Saigon Smokers!
Thankfully rejected, though it has been suggested by opposition
that Saigon Sinners might be a more appropriate name. We look
forward to playing against you and drinking with you. |

Winner of the 2004 Phuket Soccer 7s Bowl Champions, the
SCI Gecko's are a pub team at heart with a great team spirit
and some gifted individuals that can turn on the style at
any time (assuming the night before wasn't too heavy!). Bangkok
Summer league champions in 2003, we are certainly not taking
part just to make up the numbers! |

Country: China
City: Shanghai
Team Color: White or Red
Coach: Daniel / Patrick
Players: Germans with
Internationals players... |
Shanghai Krauts FC the 2005 Phuket Tournament will already
be the third participation and the fifth in Thailand. As one
of the founding members of this tour, Krauts already arranged
with the organisers a green card directly into the Cup Competition
(no money, no honey). While last years successes
have been refused due to fatal incidents in Soi Crocodile,
we hope to see one of you in the finals to take home glory
to Shanghai. And with the CUP on hand we hope to level the
way for the Championship in our home league in Shanghai, where
the head-on-head competition already looks like Krauts vs.
Japan. With our 10th Years Anniversary Tournament in this
June, Krauts also proved not only to be a regular guest but
again a worthy host. And: If we fail enough at least
well have fun again and loads of excuses. Immer wieder
- immer wieder, immer wieder Shanghai Krauts |

SHOOTERS (China) |

|

|
Country: China
City: Shanghai
Team Color: Red
Captain: John "Sir Jof"
Players: Scottish, English,
American, Danish, and
Canadian.... |
Shanghai Shooters were formed in 1998. We originally started
as a fun social team but with more and more expats arriving
in Shanghai over the years, the quality of the team increased
greatly. We still pride ourselves in being a fun team, and
we work as hard at the socializing as we do in training and
on the field. We play in the Shanghai International Football
League, which we believe is one of the most competitive Expat
leagues in Asia. Teams such as Shanghai Japan and Joyspeed
also do very well in overseas tournaments. The Shooters are
mainly a British team, with some Americans thrown in. As well
as our Domestic success, we also travel to a number of tournaments
around Asia, and have managed to win the Manila 6's twice,
Bangkok 11's and Phuket 7's. In 2000, we also went to Mongolia
to play the National team as a part of their World Cup preparations.
In May 2005, due to our tournament successes, we were invited
to take part in the Phillips Lighting Hong Kong 7's. Given
a tough draw, we managed to draw 1-1 with Aston Villa, and
were narrowly defeated 0-1 by Glasgow Rangers and 1-2 to Kitchee
FC. We have had a couple of Professionals turn out for the
Shooters in the past, namely Ian Rush when he visited Shanghai,
and Mark Ford of Leeds and Doncaster fame. One of our current
players, Claus Borregaard played for Aarhus of Denmark, where
he played in the UEFA Cup against Steaua Bucharest and Barcelona.
We also hold our own Bi-Annual International 7's tournament,
the next of which will be played in August 2006.
