KANTO CELTS (Japan)

Country: Japan
City: Tokyo
Team Color: Green/White
Captain: Chris
Players: British, Irish,
Russian, Canadian, US...

Kanto Celts are the most highly rated underachieving soccer Team in the Tokyo metropolitan area. The Celts are not just a football team but a social institution. Careful co-ordination behind the scenes in kantoceltdom allows the stars juggle football and fame in the face of various adversities like work, women, alcohol and Eugene's ad-hoc nights out. With the bosman ruling strictly in force here in Japan the Celts have enlisted the services of overseas talents from as far away as Russia, Canada, US, Ireland and the other country next to it. Within the ranks we boast a Harvard Lawyer, Westlife reject, zoolander himself and Roy Keanes' friend (on first name basis). As the most recognised team in Japan and possibly Asia-Pacific, Celts spend much of their time on tour to places like Phuket, Nagano and Izumo representing Ireland and anything green. Kanto Celts are always on the lookout for new talent to nurture and strengthen the defence, midfield and strikers. All Nationalities Welcome! In fact if you are any good at all and can handle the lifestyle contact kantoceltsfc@yahoo.com

ORCHARD ROMEO ROVERS FC (Singapore)

Country: Singapore
City: Singapore
Team Color: Red
Captain:
Players: International...

Orchard Rovers Young Ones, first participation for this team from Singapore.... “Orchard Rovers FC” was formed in 1998, when a bunch of overweight drinking buddies decided it was time to show the girls that they still had a bit of class. Steve Watts, Toby Trotter and Mark Sorgo (the founding three) set up six-a-side games every Wednesday night for five years. Such was the popularity of the six-a-side that they decided to try their luck at 11’s. Needless to say they didn’t fair too well, they didn’t realize how big the pitch was! So after a few more friendlies and the recruitment of some younger stock they decided in 2004 to join the Espzen Midweek League…..more of this later.
Now, the team name: …..not to be confused with the infamous “Orchard Towers” or is it? In fact, the boys have so many watering holes along the Republic’s World Famous “Retail Mecca” that “Orchard” was a no brainer and “Rovers”?.... well they Rove around Orchard I suppose.
Anyway back to the squad, which has an age span of some 40 years and is made up of some of England’s finest sales people…… 4 x personal financial advisers, 4 x time-share specialists and to top it all, the boss is a car dealer. Name change - Dodgy Rovers??????.........(see as below)........

ORCHARD IPANEMA ROVERS FC (Singapore)

Country: Singapore
City: Singapore
Team Color: Red
Captain:
Players: International...

............. The team is sponsored by “National Forwarder”, a company owned by Indian/Singaporean committee man and Super sub, Rajoo. The committee is made up of Steve Watts, Rajoo, Dave (I am only 58 honest) Rowe, Kev Do-Lally, Simon Cook and assisted by our social and travel secretary, Hastings’ very own plastic-scouser, Matty “Doggers” Smalley. And so on to the Espzen Mid Week League. The games are played every Wednesday/Thursday to ensure maximum revenue is earned for the “stock-car racing track” of an excuse for a pitch we play on. We are lucky though as lighting, is usually provided by three light bulbs and twelve candles (subject to availability and/or matches)!
In season one, we finished mid table, but collected the dubious reputation as the league’s hard men, coming 55th out of 56 in the overall fairplay league. Season Two so far unbeaten after 5 games and looking strong: the discipline has been sorted and we are now feared by all other teams. What makes us special?..... Camaraderie, loads of “banter”, unquenchable thirst for beer and we tend to fight and squabble with each other so much, you would believe we were all related and from the Isle of Man!
Anyway, it’s our first time at the Phuket 7’s, although we have all tasted the delights of this wonderful island in the past on many occasions. We have entered two teams Orchard “Romeo” Rovers FC and Orchard “Ipanema” Rovers FC. Club Slogan: “GET UP EM AND AT EM”

RACING FC (Singapore)

Country/City: Singapore
Team Color: Yellow and
Blue Stripes
Captain: Andrew Thong
Players: Australian, British, Singaporean, Scottish,
Kenyan, American

Racing FC, first participation for this team from Singapore. Established in 2002. Originally known as Sunsports the team was 5/6 regulars plus whoever Peter Koh found during the week to make up the numbers. Features of the early side were ; pre match coaching given to some of Peter's less able signings on how to kick a ball more than 1 metre; attempts at communication (often the signings were not speaking English nor Chinese); hunts for a kit (we didn't have one); no refs, opposition or available pitch.

SEXY FC (China)

Country: China
City: Shanghai
Team Color: Red / Pink
Captain: Chris
Players: International

Sexy Football Club Beijing. Established 1996. Sexy is a club with a proud history represented by fine body of oddballs from all corners of the world. The club began in 1996 attached to the Hilton Health Club in Beijing and made IFFC history conceding more goals in the first season than any other club ever. Since then we cut out the beers at halftime and the large guts have been complimented by some lads with talent who spearheaded our meteoric rise to the Beijing IFFC first division. The ethics of the club have remained the same: mates and beers first, an extensive overseas touring schedule and sexy birds and sexy football.
