Country: Cambodia
City: Phnom Penh
Team Color: Yellow/Black
Captain: Billy
Players: International... |
Bayon Wanderers FC, Runner-up of the Plate 2004 Phuket Soccer
7s. The impressive 12th century Angkorian Bayon
Temple lends its name to this impressive team. The strength
of the Angkorian Empire is reflected in the depth of the squads
character, and the beauty and elegance of the temples is reflected
in the grace with which they take to the field. Similarly,
the horrific brutality of the ancient Khmer kings is clearly
evident in their violent and erratic behaviour on the pitch. |

Country: Hong Kong

Team Color: Blue & Yellow

Tunners
Players: English with our usual token Aussie for comedy 'thong and singlet'value

Boca Seniors was founded in 1997 and we have been playing in Hong Kong's Yau Yee League (YYL). In our inaugural season (1997/98) we won the YYL Second Division title, which we subsequently won again in the 2001/02 season. Frequent arrivals and departures being the nature of an expatriate's life has meant that Boca's forays into the top flight have been all too fleeting, with only two seasons in the YYL First Division. The club's squad over the years has included the full range of nationalities usually found within Hong Kong's expatriate community... England, Wales, Scotland, China, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, India, Nepal, Senegal and even one guy from Mauritius, who was of course a Man Utd fan !! Fresh from our successes in the "Bowl" competitions at the inaugural Bangkok Tournament in April '04 and Phuket in November'05, Boca Seniors are returning to the island paradise of Phuket to get three in a row and bag another trophy. But more likely than not, it be the much coveted and sought after 'Wooden Spoon'! We strongly believe in the philosophy of match days consisting of three 'halve' and you can guarantee that whether we win, lose or draw during the first two of these 'halves', Boca will be sure to outshine any opposition during the third half. Thank you for inviting Boca Seniors to play in the Phuket International Soccer 7's Tournament again and we look forward to seeing all the other teams this weekend... and remember...it's all about your performance in that crucial third half !

CELTS (Japan) |

City: Tokyo
Team Color: Green/White
Captain: Christopher
Players: British, Irish,

Kanto Celts are the most highly rated underachieving soccer
Team in the Tokyo metropolitan area. The Celts are not just
a football team but a social institution. Careful co-ordination
behind the scenes in kantoceltdom allows the stars juggle
football and fame in the face of various adversities like
work, women, alcohol and Eugene's ad-hoc nights out. With
the bosman ruling strictly in force here in Japan the Celts
have enlisted the services of overseas talents from as far
away as Russia, Canada, US, Ireland and the other country
next to it. Within the ranks we boast a Harvard Lawyer, Westlife
reject, zoolander himself and Roy Keanes' friend (on first
name basis). As the most recognised team in Japan and possibly
Asia-Pacific, Celts spend much of their time on tour to places
like Phuket, Nagano and Izumo representing Ireland and anything
green. Kanto Celts are always on the lookout for new talent
to nurture and strengthen the defence, midfield and strikers.

Lions FC was formed in 1997/8 to take advantage of some of the young
expat talent not playing with the more established clubs at the time.
The impact of the team was pretty much immediate with league and cup
success in the first few years (98/99). Since then major honours have
eluded the club but some tournament and cup competitions have provided
silverware. Last year saw Lions FC secure strong sponsorship from one of
the premier nightclubs in Singapore. This helped the club to grow and
this year under a new manager we have attracted new sponsorship from
Corsing Pte Ltd. This coupled with a very active recruiting team has
ensured a steady influx of quality into our side allowing us to once
again compete with the likes of SCC, Casuals and Brewerkz to name but a
few. The great thing about the Lions FC is the broad range of
nationalities represented - English, Scottish, Irish, Welsh,
Singaporean, Australian, Swedish, Spanish, African and the Isle of Man
to name but a few. This gives the team great spirit and culture. |

ORCHARD ROVERS FC (Singapore) |

|

|
Country/City: Singapore
Team Color: Red
Captain: Matthew
Players: International... |
Orchard Rovers Young Ones. Orchard Rovers FC was formed
in 1998, when a bunch of overweight drinking buddies decided
it was time to show the girls that they still had a bit of
class. Steve Watts, Toby Trotter and Mark Sorgo (the founding
three) set up six-a-side games every Wednesday night for five
years. Such was the popularity of the six-a-side that they
decided to try their luck at 11s. Needless to say they
didnt fair too well, they didnt realize how big
the pitch was! So after a few more friendlies and the recruitment
of some younger stock they decided in 2004 to join the Espzen
Midweek League
..more of this later.

Racing FC,
Established in 2002. Originally known as Sunsports the team
was 5/6 regulars plus whoever Peter Koh found during the week
to make up the numbers. Features of the early side were ;
pre match coaching given to some of Peter's less able signings
on how to kick a ball more than 1 metre; attempts at communication
(often the signings were not speaking English nor Chinese);
hunts for a kit (we didn't have one); no refs, opposition
or available pitch. |

Shanghai Krauts FC the 2005 Phuket Tournament will already
be the third participation and the fifth in Thailand. As one
of the founding members of this tour, Krauts already arranged
with the organisers a green card directly into the Cup Competition
(no money, no honey). While last years successes
have been refused due to fatal incidents in Soi Crocodile,
we hope to see one of you in the finals to take home glory
to Shanghai. And with the CUP on hand we hope to level the
way for the Championship in our home league in Shanghai, where
the head-on-head competition already looks like Krauts vs.
Japan. With our 10th Years Anniversary Tournament in this
June, Krauts also proved not only to be a regular guest but
again a worthy host. And: If we fail enough at least
well have fun again and loads of excuses. Immer wieder
- immer wieder, immer wieder Shanghai Krauts |
