2007 Phuket International Soccer
7s Teams
(5th Phuket International Soccer 7s & 2nd Andaman International Soccer 7s)
Masters
Men Category (19 teams maximum)
2007 Phuket Soccer 7s Teams:
BOCA
SENIORS (Hong
Kong) |
 |
 |
Country: Hong Kong
City: Various bars in and
around Wanchai
Team Color: Blue & Yellow
Captain:
Tunners
Players: English with our usual token Aussie for comedy 'thong and singlet'value |
Boca Seniors was founded in 1997 and we have been playing in Hong Kong's Yau Yee League (YYL). In our inaugural season (1997/98) we won the YYL Second Division title, which we subsequently won again in the 2001/02 season. Frequent arrivals and departures being the nature of an expatriate's life has meant that Boca's forays into the top flight have been all too fleeting, with only two seasons in the YYL First Division. The club's squad over the years has included the full range of nationalities usually found within Hong Kong's expatriate community... England, Wales, Scotland, China, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, India, Nepal, Senegal and even one guy from Mauritius, who was of course a Man Utd fan !! Fresh from our successes in the "Bowl" competitions at the inaugural Bangkok Tournament in April '04 and Phuket in November'05, Boca Seniors are returning to the island paradise of Phuket to get three in a row and bag another trophy. But more likely than not, it be the much coveted and sought after 'Wooden Spoon'! We strongly believe in the philosophy of match days consisting of three 'halve' and you can guarantee that whether we win, lose or draw during the first two of these 'halves', Boca will be sure to outshine any opposition during the third half. Thank you for inviting Boca Seniors to play in the Phuket International Soccer 7's Tournament again and we look forward to seeing all the other teams this weekend... and remember...it's all about your performance in that crucial third half ! |

Country: Indonesia
City: Jakarta
Team Color: Yellow
Captain: Lucas
Players: Indonesian,
Singaporean, Canadian,
Chinese... |
Do It Satu Lagi, formerly known as Do It United FC were formed
in May 1993 by Tony Winyard from regulars of the "JJ
Do It!" bar in Jakarta, Indonesia. We compete in the
Jakarta International Football League (JIFL), which consists
of mainly expatriate players from all parts of world playing
in 12 different teams, with each team nominally being from
a country or in our case a bar basis. In August 2002 the team
name was changed to Do It Satu Lagi FC as the Satu Lagi bar
have sponsored us for the past 8 years.! Originally a team
of fit, younger players, we have now matured into a team of
not so young, not so fit players with an active youth policy,
being back row, 2nd left, aged 34 years old. This will be
DoIts first overseas tournament, but we do participate
in all the main expatriate 6s tournaments, including
the Bali, ISCI and Knudde 6s. Of the team participating
in this tournament we have old Do It players flying in from
Hong Kong, Singapore, Vietnam, Canada and Indonesia. |

Team Color: White or Red
Coach: Daniel
Players: Germans with

Shanghai Krauts FC the 2005 Phuket Tournament will already
be the third participation and the fifth in Thailand. As one
of the founding members of this tour, Krauts already arranged
with the organisers a green card directly into the Cup Competition
(no money, no honey). While last years successes
have been refused due to fatal incidents in Soi Crocodile,
we hope to see one of you in the finals to take home glory
to Shanghai. And with the CUP on hand we hope to level the
way for the Championship in our home league in Shanghai, where
the head-on-head competition already looks like Krauts vs.
Japan. With our 10th Years Anniversary Tournament in this
June, Krauts also proved not only to be a regular guest but
again a worthy host. And: If we fail enough at least
well have fun again and loads of excuses. Immer wieder
- immer wieder, immer wieder Shanghai Krauts |

TEAM BONDI (Australia)
|
 |
 |
Country: Australia
City: Sydney
Team Color: White
Captain: Michael
Players: Australian |
Team Bondi return to the Phuket 7’s after being runners up in 2005. Fresh from wins in the Manila 7’s and Bangkok 7’s this year the Bondi boys will be looking to go one better at this years tournament. They bring along the usual suspects in strikers Gabi “Seafood” Rachamim and Avrom “Bobby” Sank along with tough defenders Mick Swibel, Gary Weiss and Phil Wolanski who enjoy holding up the rear. This backline has seen more cards than a croupier at a casino! Midfield dynamo and soon to become Thai citizen Gary Braude is joined by the “youngsters of the squad” Gary Phillips and Rodney Mendes who make their Phuket debuts. Clive Barrett will weave his magic all over the park while Andy Prentice dons the gloves between the sticks and the lads hope he stays away from dodgy prawns on this trip. The “angry ant” Ethan Nyholm makes a welcome return to the squad after a self inflicted sabbatical. Former Socceroo, Ian Gray, leads this motley crew of Bondi vagabonds as they look to add another piece of silverware to their trophy cabinet.
