COSMOS (Thailand) |
 |
 |
Country: Thailand
City: Bangkok
Team Color: Black or Yellow
Captain: Mauro
Players: International... |
Bangkok’s Cosmos Football Club was founded on a rainy September day in the smoky clubroom of the then legendary Hotspot Company House on Sukhumvit 65. Although rumors have it that the founders only remotely remember the details, given their usual state on such occasions, the idea was to establish a multi-cultural club, based on a mutual pleasure of quality football rather than on nationality.
Cosmos FC quickly established itself in the Bangkok football scene and became a synonym for fast paced, short passing. In the early days not less than four Thai Ex-Internationals joined the ranks amongst all the other nationalities, contributing to Cosmos fast rise in Asian amateur football.
Cosmos engagement in Veterans football started in 2005, probably forced by the fact that despite all the fitness somehow speed was much more difficult to maintain. Cosmos then won the 2005 Bangkok 7s, followed by a win of the same tournament in Phuket. 2006 they had to be content with a runner-up spot but they compensated by winning EG’s regular Vets tournament a total of 4 times in that year.
Cosmos has set high targets for 2007, most of all to keep their legendary easy-going, laid back approach. As a matter of fact each player in the Cosmos (Vets) squad will readily confirm that these tournaments are played in high spirits with no tussles and hustles involved, at least not within their own squad and that means “Mission accomplished”. |

Coach: Daniel
Players: Germans with
Internationals players... |
Shanghai Krauts FC the 2005 Phuket Tournament will already
be the third participation and the fifth in Thailand. As one
of the founding members of this tour, Krauts already arranged
with the organisers a green card directly into the Cup Competition
(no money, no honey). While last years successes
have been refused due to fatal incidents in Soi Crocodile,
we hope to see one of you in the finals to take home glory
to Shanghai. And with the CUP on hand we hope to level the
way for the Championship in our home league in Shanghai, where
the head-on-head competition already looks like Krauts vs.
Japan. With our 10th Years Anniversary Tournament in this
June, Krauts also proved not only to be a regular guest but
again a worthy host. And: If we fail enough at least
well have fun again and loads of excuses. Immer wieder
- immer wieder, immer wieder Shanghai Krauts |

HIBERNIANS (Japan) |
 |

|
Country: Japan
City: Tokyo
Team Color: Green
Captain: Bevan
Players: International... |
Tokyo Hibernian was formed in 2001 by the merger of the Tokyo Irish and Tokyo Albion. From these Celtic roots we have become an international team with 50% Japanese and 50% from a host of countries including Australia, Ireland, Canada, Scotland and the U.S. We won the 2005/6 Tokyo Metropolis league (the premier foreign club competition in Tokyo); completing our 2nd league win in 3 years. We were semi finalists in the Phuket 7's in 2005, going out to the eventual winners, the Bangkok Cosmos on a golden goal. In 2006 we return to Phuket with a larger and stronger squad and our aim is to take the cup back with us to Tokyo. |
